Digipacks.

A digipack is a cardboard case for an artists' album. It consists of the artists' colours of motifs that are recognizable to the audience. The codes and conventions of a digipack are photos of the artist, a list of the songs, the record label information, the artists'/record label's logo, producers, writers, stylists, a spine, dvd logo, copyright information and a bar code. They may also include the lyrics to the songs, a website promoting the artist/record label, and advertise other work that the artist has done e.g. other albums.
The benefits of a digipack are that they are cheaper than a jewel case. They are also good for promotional copies e.g. if they wanted to put copies in a newspaper. Consumers may also feel like they are getting more from a digipack, as it seems more personal; like a book.
